My New Year's Resolutions...

American National Cattlewomen and American AgriWomen Fighting the GOOD Fight!

1.       Continue to PRAY each morning.  The acronym ACTS helps me when I pray.  Adoration-Confession-Thanksgiving-Supplication.  Under the Supplication (asking) part I always ask for wisdom, guidance and protection.
2.       Continue to BELIEVE that He is in control. If I ever doubt that fact I reread the story of Elisha   Our God is an Awesome God!
3.       Continue to have HOPE for the future, but realize that action is required. Hope and prayer is not a substitute for work, thinking, watching, suffering, or giving; they are supports for all other efforts.
4.       Continue to have FAITH but realize that faith is not a substitute for hard work. The countless stories in the Bible show us that God’s leaders didn’t grab a rocker and wait…they got busy.
5.       Continue to STUDY my Bible and learn as much as I can about how those who encountered difficult times in the past dealt with those adversities. Joshua, Nehemiah, Hezekiah, Deborah, Esther, Ruth, Elisha, etc. etc. etc. all “did the right thing” with the knowledge they had at the time. They were decisive, calculating, courageous and persistent fully relying on God’s guidance.
6.       Continue to EDUCATE myself, my grandkids, my family members and friends about history…Bible, American and World.  If we fail to know history and the outcomes of past mistakes we are doomed to repeat those mistakes. Recognizing what today’s evil looks like, exposing where it exists and the perpetuators of it is not an option- it’s mandatory for American freedom.  A healthy dose of “historic facts” can serve as a powerful reminder of the hardships our forefathers endured so that we might enjoy: attending the church of our choice, speaking our minds, owning a gun, owning private property (cattle, pigs, sheep and poultry- backyard swimming pools, your own car…the list is endless).
7.       Continue to Never Doubt that everything I do whether great or small affects someone, something. With careful intent I pray those actions are positive and result in continued future freedom for my family, my friends, my nation.  If I ever question the fact that what I do isn't important I reread the 150 year old story of the Maine schoolteacher,
           Joshua Chamberlain
8.       Continue to EMULATE those who fought for my freedom…I will work hard, fight hard, stand up and stand firm... for Christ and Christianity… for America and Her Freedoms…  As far as surrounding myself with happy-positive people…that may not happen…don’t get me wrong I love being happy and positive but I don’t believe our forefathers were concerned about their happiness, boosting their egos or being positive, winning awards, receiving pats on the back…not much on being personally uplifted-they were concerned about the passage of freedom from their hands to future generations.  I will surround myself with those people… like-minded, U.S. Constitutionalists determined to save our kid’s- our family’s future freedoms.

Wishing All Americans a HAPPY “FREE” 2014!

A Word to “Manufactured Crisis” Creators...

We can’t possibly feed nine billion people by 2050 or is it 2030 or 2020? Can we get our facts on this crisis straight?  I've listened as these numbers have changed for the past few years.  I got excited myself …OMG we can’t feed all of these people…the earth can’t sustain … we must do something…who will step in to fix this looming crisis?

No need to fear, "The Mighty Global Roundtable on “SUSTAINABLE” Beef  along with third party auditors are here...plus a few more opportunists...and they have their tool kits near".

But where's the fire? Where are the long lines of concerned consumers demanding sustainable products?  Where's the crisis?  Oh that's right, it's not for 20-40 more years, but in the meantime  producer's ability to produce must be destroyed?  "And that's the plan to feed the 9 billion?"  That makes absolutely no sense at all.  But it might to those who want control.

Let’s take a closer look at the Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef.  Besides Elanco, Cargill, Merck, McDonalds, Wal Mart and several other ag and food related industries we also have;

 1.  Nature Conservancy, that wonderful little environmental organization that just can't wait to get their foot in your pasture to HELP you take care of your land, water and animals and protect and control the growing number of endangered species (plants, insects, and animals) that might possibly live there.

2.  Other environmental police are the powerful World Wildlife Fund and friends, Rain Forest Alliance, need I say more.  Besides their heavy ties to Agenda 21 take a look at WWF's involvement in Religion. If this doesn't make you shudder I don't know what will...And you wonder how the idea of "Mother Earth is Sacred" is reaching into all facets of our society?  There lies the answer and my extreme concern over certain segments of our industry doing business with this group.

3.There are still more boogie-men; the U.N. and their multitude of NGO minions and Mr. Jason Clay,    I listened to him intently several years ago at the 2010 Beef Industry Summer Convention hanging on his every word.  Today I still appreciate some of what he has to say, just like Jude Capper he has wonderful statistics and mounds of facts,  but I would like to remind him that he, the WWF and Rain Forest Alliance aren't God.  They can worry about the environment, show us their facts and figures and share ideas about what we need to do..."but in the end God's in control, you're not". He'll take care of His earth the way He sees fit.  Farmers and ranchers have worked beside Him since the beginning of time, but He always calls the shots whether we like the outcome or not. Thinking "Mother Earth" is in your hands is a pretty silly idea when you come right down to it.
Granted I'm sure He's not happy about what's going on on our earth either, but I have a hunch His problem is with the moral decay and Subversion of our culture not whether we destroy the planet...He's going to do that anyway... without our help.
So as far as you stepping in to rescue the world from...global warming...no, that term didn't work, I believe you changed it to climate change, "whoops" until the public caught on.  Yes, shifting to sustainability was a clever move, but I think the public is catching on to that one as well.
We'll all be watching for another term soon, one that will continue to cause confusion and panic and create a crisis; one that can be used to swoop in and solve it and protect the world from "rancher, farmer, feedlot owner, animal protein food supplier destruction".

  4. JBS you have a wonderful feedlot, I appreciate the tours you provide. I love your pristine feeding practices, but I must admit that I left scratching my head and wondering how economical they were for the average producer or feedlot owner. I'm fairly certain to the majority of producers it was like visiting the Hearst Castle and daydreaming about installing that Neptune pool when you get home...something you can only dream about doing. You're a great place to visit but American producers can't duplicate what you do and stay in business, and if this is the model of Sustainability Global Greenies are looking to saddle us with, our budgets won't cut it.

Intermission:  Before I move on I just want to interject here. The use of propaganda for control has always been key in global takeover attempts.  FYI agriculture media publication/outlets helping perpetuate and promulgate the SUSTAINABLE  "manufactured crisis".  There is a growing group of informed readers who are done with lies and liberal media.  They're searching for truth. They will stand for American values and against global collaboration with the enemy.

Back to the crisis. If there is truly a crisis and it's projected that we can't feed 9 billion people in the next 20-60 years-take your pick- my questions are this:
1.     Why would we want to  make it less profitable for producers to operate? Why would we restrict their ability to produce by playing into lies such as the Triple Bottom Line?  This term was defined by John Elkington, author of Cannibals with Forks...a true beef promoter I'm sure...during the U.N.'s Bruntland's report. This term defines, according to the U.N., the acceptable  "unattainable" model of being socially”and “environmentally” SUSTAINABLE .
2.   Acceptable to who?  Could it be to those who have taken control of the term? To the boogie-men who have honed and polished it and put it in the hands of some of our very own experts to dispense around the globe?  This term, that has no concrete definition and allows radical environmentalist the creative ability to use any way they want to manipulate a certain outcome, an outcome that destroys us and gives the opportunity for profitability and jobs to only a few within our industry, namely third party auditors and those in a leadership or employment capacity. Those who control the music easily get a seat at the table.  The rest of us, the producers and feeders, are watching.  We hate the music and the view.  All we see is a destructive economic abyss that is unfolding on our ranches and feedlots. It's not profitable.
3. And look back in history a short while back to the 1950’s and again in the 1970's, didn't we hear the same predictions and problems being discussed? The earth is going to freeze, we won't be able to feed the world. What happened then? Natures cycles continue just as they have since creation.  Production agriculturalists arose to the occasion and developed better technology and farming practices. Profitability, tenacity and ingenuity saved the day, not more U.N.-guided regulations or collaborative decisions with extreme global environmentalist.

And now questions for producers:
1.Why are we letting this term and a handful of global companies and extremists control us? Why are we allowing outside forces to dump manure in our barns and feedlots and demand we remove it? When one load of SUSTAINABLE gets unloaded we work hard to shovel it out only to find another heaping load.  This is the way sustainable was designed.  We can't define it. We can't continue to keep cleaning it up, we can't afford to hire others to clean it up. Get the picture? It's not profitable. This term is destroying our funds, our livelihoods our heritage and America? We must destroy it.
2.When are we going to demand that our industry organizations stop aiding the enemy by continuing to mingle our funds with the enemy's helping them advance a destructive “SUSTAINABILITY” foundation for global elites and extreme environmentalists to use against us and for control?

Change isn't happening at the top, oh it is but it's change you're not going to like.  After voicing my concern to leadership for over two years about activists infiltration into our industry, and remaining patient and hopeful that something would be done and being told that a good outcome was going to be presented, I was not only disappointed but down right mad this summer when I witnessed further collaboration with these insidious groups.  If you want change it's going to come from you the producer at the grassroots level, I'm afraid that those we depend on mapping our future may have forgotten we were even on the trip.  I'm afraid they've packed their bags and are leaving without us.  If you want to get in and go along you're going to have to get involved and speak up.
I really wonder if the grassroots producer is part of the equation anymore.

If there is truly a concern about feeding 9 billion people in the near future those individuals in our industry who don't actually produce anything need to get out of the way, take the words, terms, ideas and destructive regulations they've swallowed from global extremists- standards that look good on paper, but not so much in the real world of bottom line production agriculture- and find something else to do, find another opportunistic avenue to follow besides aligning and collaborating with those who want to aid in incrementally destroying food suppliers ability to supply food. Let the one bottom line- PROFITABILITY- do the job of feeding those 9 billion.

Great Revivals In History

The Bible records revivals where great numbers of people turned to God. Each revival was characterized by a leader who recognized his nations’ spiritual decay.  In each case the leader took action, was not afraid and followed God’s guidance.
It is apparent our nation is under siege. If you’re considered a leader in one of the resource sectors under attack; health care, production agriculture, education, energy  you know something is wrong.
You might be in the health care profession and have the task of “navigating” Obama Care.  You may be forced to make decisions to terminate a patient’s prescription drug or forced to make the call to proceed with lifesaving treatments or pull the plug.
If you’re a teacher you are finding yourself forced to usher in Common Core curriculum you know is damaging your students and our nation’s future.  Maybe you’re a professor sharing radical progressive teachings in colleges or universities and you’ve suddenly realized what’s going on…God is nowhere to be found on campus.
Maybe you’re an industry leader, staff member or director in production agriculture and have suddenly realized that the programs you have implemented and the individuals you’ve aligned yourself with are not really friends of ag after all, they’re there to destroy it.
Maybe you’re in a government position that is facilitating programs you know are designed to expand regulations, implement agendas that will incrementally destroy private property rights and producer’s ability to produce.  Or you might be a governor or elected official who has known from the beginning the plans being implemented and have “gone along to get along”. Maybe you didn’t realize, and have now found yourself in the middle.
Maybe you’re not in the resource side of the attacks at all but have found yourself in the propaganda arm and know you are aiding the enemy  by promulgating  a Communist/Marxist/radical Islamic based agenda.  You might  be an ag  journalist who woke up and realized you’re the water-boy or girl for the “sustainable” hoax, or advancing fear of farming and a global meltdown crisis.
You must stop today and make plans to turn America around. Our culture is being destroyed and  if you continue to promote these ideas and agendas you are part of the machine designed to destroy us from within. You are the problem.
This is not a conspiracy; it is not radical thinking it is happening under our noses. Today you must take a firm stand against it. If you refuse and choose the route of escapism burying your head in the sand, Thunder, Sooners, fishing or Kardashians you are guaranteeing your kids and grandkids will be slaves. You are aiding the enemy in instituting their plan in America. Do nothing and they win.  Your children loose.
This is more than Agenda 21. The chart that took me two years to compile is only a sliver of what is taking place.  It is a part of the destruction, but only a part, Trevor Loudon pointed that out to me last week.  This is subversion of our culture, our values; our nation.
And what is subversion?  It is turning nature’s hierarchy, the natural order of things, upside down. Animals become more important than people, kids are smarter than adults; wrong is right.  It has incrementally been used to rot American values removing God from our schools - government –society and replacing him with political correctness and tolerance.  It is destroying U.S businesses and production agriculture (our food supply) by burdening American capitalists and producers with growing rules and regulations to appease the “subverters”.   The madness must be stopped, the evil destroyed and eradicated.

We need leaders, leaders who will stand up against the attacks at the local and state levels. Those leaders will come from the ground, from grassroots individuals who are willing to lead.
We also need national  leaders that must be put into place to lead this nation in 2016.  They are Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck, David Barton, Jim Bridenstine, and a host of other true conservatives who can change a nation’s course.  We must get behind these individuals in whatever capacity they are willing to serve.  A reminder about supporting individuals who “go along to get along”; victory has never been achieved under the guidance of “enemy collaborating leaders”…study the outcome of the nation’s leaders who collaborated with Hitler. Victory has been achieved through leadership by brave, courageous, persistent God fearing men and women taking a stand. You can today read stories of Bible heroes who took a stand, revived nations and changed the course of their people’s future.

Moses:        Exodus 32,33
Samuel:       1 Samuel  7:2-13
David:        2 Samuel 6
Jehoshaphat   2 Chronicles 20
Hezekiah      2 Chronicles 29-31
Josiah        2 Chronicles 34, 35
Ezra          Ezra 9, 10; Haggai 1
Nehemiah (with Ezra)  Nehemiah 8-10

These men were ordinary men, some had wives (lots of them in some instances), kids, jobs, families to take care of.  They had their everyday problems just like you and I, but God gave them a job , a mission, a task to save a nation and with his help (and a host of angels as you’ll read in some of these stories) they finished those jobs.
Why not take your Bible today and read about these leaders.  God has put you in a specific place to make a difference.  Reviving America is your job, you’re mission, your task.

P-R-A-Y-E-R-S is a list of things you can do today to start securing your children and grandchildren's future Christian heritage and nation.

1. PRAY These leaders first and foremost prayed for guidance and protection and that should always be first on our list. They put their total trust in God and his protection.  They were not afraid.
2. RECOGNIZE the enemy.  This enemy is getting easier to recognize and it's becoming easier to expose them; they are the one's straddling the fence, making deals with the subverters, advancing the enemy's message and agenda- they are aiding the enemy's infiltration.  You must stand up against this, call out organizations, individuals, groups, government officials who are allowing this evil communistic, radical Islamic culture into our schools, businesses, culture etc.
3. ALIGN yourself with others taking a stand.  Join other growing groups such as Freedom Works a truly conservative organization, tune into The Blaze, Glenn Beck's this source is actually the only media telling the complete truth, if they get it wrong they say so, back up and try again, there is no hidden agenda or lurking sponsors driving their agenda,  Mark Levin promotes the Tea Party Patriots.com and has several great books out- he's a true patriot, Michelle Bachman tries hard to stand up (the mainstream media which is now controlled by the enemy has tried to destroy her and also Sarah Palin, but they are coming back and I imagine it will be with great force).  Each of you have those in your state who you know are true conservatives; promote them at the grassroots level.  A group in our county is Sons and Daughters of Liberty which each month invites well known speakers in to share their knowledge. This is how I met Trevor Loudon, three of our counties went together, Garfield, Major and Dewey and hosted him. It was his speech that opened my eyes wider. We have also hosted Jonathan Small from the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs, and several
other great speakers, representatives and senators.
4. YELL loudly.  Speak to your local school board about the dangers of Common Core or invite speakers and experts in to share their knowledge to your community.  This is being done next week at Watonga, Oklahoma.  Jenni White will speak.  Linda Murphy is another expert on Common Core.
5. EDUCATE  low informed voters and show them the devastation that will result when dictators (Communistic, Marxist, Fascists, radical Islam) are allowed control.  We must share history with them and show them how the government works.  If you don’t know start at home teaching your family.  David Barton is your expert on this, he is on Glenn Beck and travels the U.S. teaching the constitution (we heard him speak this summer in OKC).  After you’re educated hit the road and YELL.
6. REGISTER voters. We have three years and only three years to change course.  We must make sure our citizens are registered to vote.  Get them to the voting precincts in 2016 and turn this nation back over to God.
7. SMILE God is on our side…he’s always helped leaders who will help themselves, he loves it that we are fighting for Him and he will protect us.  Give Him the glory, keep praying, keep plugging and he’ll do the rest!

Mucho Meals on Wheels

This will be my 50th year- plus or minus- helping feed harvest hands. We fix it, deliver it and serve it...from the trunks of cars, backs of suburbans or in the luxury of an old un-air conditioned R.V.

Assorted fare throughout the years has included Grandma Grace's homemade chicken and noodles, hot rolls, famous pickle slaw for hamburgers, and her assortment of delicious homemade desserts ranging from cinnamon rolls to cream pies; Mom's delicious Norwegian Corn casserole, Swiss Steak and Strawberry Cake, my sister-in-law Dianna's signature Blackberry Kuchen and German Krautburgers and today my daughters, daughter-in-laws, niece and even my brother, Monte's numerous delicacies...and I mean delicacies. They are not content presenting just any ole thing...they take it pretty seriously turning out tons of Pioneer Women, and Rachel Ray recipes. They own Traegers and the latest kitchen appliances. I think the harvest crew actually mourns the end of harvest, just because the food is stupendous!

My cooking, on the other hand, is pretty basic.  I just use what I have in the frig, and for the most part, the guys still rave.  I don't buy special ingredients, but concoct all types of yummy recipes from things on hand.  Yesterday I thawed out two packages of pork chops from a hog we purchased from a local FFA student.

Preparation for Chili Amarillo...because it wasn't verde

I put the frozen, salt and peppered, pork chops in my favorite blue enamel pan, covered and cooked on low for about three hours. I then chopped the meat into bite-sized pieces covered it with water, added four cubed potatoes, 1/2 chopped Vidalia onion, 1/2 can (large) of hominy ( I reserved the other 1/2 for a summer salad) and two small cans of green chilies .  I seasoned with green chili powder (purchased at Hatch, New Mexico the green chili capital of the world), red chili powder-also purchased at Hatch, onion and garlic powder, cumin powder, three cloves garlic, 1/8 cup lemon juice, salt, pepper.  I continued to let it cook on low for several more hours.  You could speed up the cooking process, but I like to do it this way as it adds flavor, plus I can go do other things.  Towards the end of cooking time I reserved 1 cup of the liquid- cooled it then added 1/2 cup flour to this mixture stirring until smooth, I then added this back to the pot making a gravy.  Right before serving I grated 1/2 fresh zucchini (they didn't know they were getting their veggies) and turned it on low then made my salad.

The salad consisted of quinoa, a wonderful grain that I keep cooked up and stored in the frig.  We eat it for breakfast added to oatmeal or just plain with butter.  It is high in protein and has a nutty texture.  You must rinse it thoroughly or it leaves a bitter taste.  I added about three cups of quinoa, two cans black-eyed peas, the remaining hominy, diced summer, patty pan and zucchini squash (supplied by my great neighbor with the green thumb), three Roma tomatoes, diced purple onion, 1/2 cup lemon juice, 1/2 cup mayonnaise, Mexican spices ( the same used in the Chili recipe), dried parsley. Chill.  Use whatever spices you like and add veggies you have on hand.

Everyone loved it except for one grandson who hates anything that looks like this...

Summer Pondering

                                                           Summertime

...it's here.  Dusty fields & gritty meals, windy days, S'mored fingers dressing baby kittens in bonnets, playing in the river, shiney hineys, snow cones, chocolate syrup, hard work, dirty pool, dirty nails, late nights, silly jokes and gobs of everything difficult, summer and satisfying.

                                       Sustaining

I'm here.  Our ranch is here.  Did it take a complicated plan to make it work? No. But it did take wise decision making and a simple basic plan:  "use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without". Being frugal along with God's blessings has helped us sustain for the past 120 years.  If we made bad decisions we changed course, rethought our methods.  Adaptability = Sustainability and Sustainability= Profitability.

                               Common Core...Eat My Dust

What I'm learning about Common Core has me more than worried about my grandkid's future liberties and freedoms. I'm fearful, I'm mad, I'm fed up with it all.  So I'm teaching them anytime I can get my hands on them.  I'm not in control of their educations but I can augment it.  Deuteronomy 11: 18, 19 says, "Therefore shall you lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign on your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And you shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall write them on the door posts of your house, and on your gates: …

I'm a thrift store junkie , I love creating something from nothing.  I buy VHS tapes  by the truckloads.  They're cheap and the variety is endless.  I begged Brad to let me drag this $3.00 dino Sharp T.V. home. He told me to leave it there. I twisted his arm.  Kasse thought it was one I'd donated several years ago...not sure but I have been guilty of  paying for and dragging a previously donated oil painting back into my house.
So that's what I'm doing and with God in control I'm betting on a bright future for all of them!
I'm using  The Well-Trained Mind: A Guide to Classical Education at Home by W.W. Norton  as a guide. We are memorizing scripture, using a timeline to chronicle events in history.  We start the period with The Pledge, both American and Oklahoma (they had to teach me the Oklahoma pledge I'm ashamed to say)

                                         Incrementalism

I open a new box of tea bags. New and unimproved...slimmer,  thinner, tinier- less.
I open a can of tuna or minnow perhaps?
I pour my cereal from a shorter, trimmer box.
I look for God in our schools, in our government, he was here...just yesterday.
I strain listening for prayers at school. I heard them...only yesterday.
I channel surf hoping to catch a "G" wave.  Movies-commercials suited for little eyes...didn't they exist?
Nudging not shoving
I hear silence; watch numbness usher in incrementalism
But who will notice?

                                  Calling All Grasshoppers

Once again I am hosting my perpetual annual Summer Grasshopper Gala where locals are offered their choice of Sevin or Tempo. Each year guests find it not only delicious and nutritious but completely satisfying.  Tell your friends...

Oklahoma American Agri Women Making a Comeback!

Oklahoma women from all across the state met recently to reignite the Oklahoma Chapter of the American Agri-Women.  AAW national president, Karen Yost, flew in from Billings, Montana to share ideas and guidance with our energetic group.
The AAW is a national coalition of farm and ranch women's organizations and individuals and was formed in 1974.  This group of active women are extremely involved in agriculture policy and hold positions on ag research, biotechnology, crop protection, rural economic development, homeland security and taxation along with many, many other areas of impact to the agriculture community.
A steering committee was appointed during the two day event to begin a  membership drive and making plans for our next meeting where officers will be elected.
Jane Adams, former state and national American Agri-Women president, 1974  taking a trip down memory lane with daughter Kimberlee

Robert Semands, GEL Govern Edmond Locally  spoke to our group about the dangers of the United Nations Agenda 21 Sustainable Development entering our communities, ranches and farms threatening our private property rights. Awareness and recognition of how this evil creeps into society is important for all American citizens to know.

Jenni White President of ROPE Restore Oklahoma Public Education explained how this same evil is infiltrating our schools through the implementation of the federally mandated Common Core.
